Frequently asked questions

Do I need to book in advance?
We always recommend reserving a bike in advance, especially during the high season, so you can be sure that the requested model is available in your size. Booking a bike in advance also speeds up the pick-up process because the bike will already be ready and waiting for you.
Do you have bicycles available?
The payment of the reservation can be made by credit card, debit card or in cash.
Can I send the measurements of my bike?
Yes, if you send us your biomechanical study by email, we can adjust the rental bike to your measurements.
How do I get a bike delivered to my hotel?
You must tell us where you are staying or intend to stay. You also have to tell us the time you want to pick up the bike and we will confirm it by email. We deliver to all points in Tenerife (Prices vary depending on the place).
How does the reservation process work?
You can select the bike you want to rent from our bikes section. The available bicycles will be sorted by category and size; if you are unsure which is your size, you can send us an email at with your doubts. Once the reservation is confirmed, you will receive an email with the rental days and products contracted. To pick up the bike on the day of the reservation, you must present a valid ID or passport and a 100€ deposit that will be returned at the end of the rental period.
Can I rent a bicycle for only one day?
Yes, if you rent the bike for one day, you can pick up the bike at 9:00 am, and you have to return it before 6:00 pm the same day.
Can I pick up my bike the day before my rental period starts?
You can pick up the bike the previous evening as long as the rental is for more than 1 day and the bike is available. Pick-up time is between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm.
Is the bike rental valid for 24 hours?
No, the single-day rental starts when the store opens at 09:00 am and ends the same day before closing time, 6:00 pm.
How do I get a bike delivered to my hotel?
We offer delivery and pick-up service for a minimum of 3 days of rental, the cost will depend on the number of bicycles or area where you are staying. It would be best if you let us know where you are staying or plan to stay.
What forms of payment do I have?
Payment of the reservation is made in advance through a secure payment gateway by credit card, debit card or Paypal.
Do they have any kind of insurance?
Each bicycle has insurance that covers civil liability for damages caused to third parties, not including damages to the bicycle, as well as theft or loss of the bicycle.
Is the bicycle insured against theft?
Rental bicycles are not insured against theft. Insurance companies do not offer this option for commercial bicycles.
How does the reservation cancellation policy work?
Prepaid reservations may be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours prior to the start of the rental period, cancellations made up to 24 hours prior to the start of the rental period will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the reservation fee and any cancellations made within 24 hours will not be refunded.
What should I bring if I rent a bicycle?
We recommend your shoes, pedals and helmet.
What accessories come with the bicycle?
They come equipped with two bottle cages, pump and a bag with spare tire, detachable and multi-tool, included in the rental price.
Do you rent pedals?
For our rental bikes, we can provide Shimano SPD and SPD-SL pedals, Look Keo or flat pedals. If you use other types, bring your own and our mechanics will be happy to mount them on your rental bike.
Do you rent shoes and helmets?
Yes, only as an extra with the rented bike.
Is the use of helmets mandatory?
Yes, in Spain by law it is compulsory to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle on roads outside the city center. You can rent a helmet for a one-time fee of 6€.
What transmission do road bikes have?
All our bikes come with 2x10 or 2x11 drivetrain. You can choose in the options whether you want compact (50x34) or standard (52x36). With the gearing we mount on the bikes (most use 11x30 or 11x32) you don't need the triple crankset to overcome the obstacles on the trails.
Do you offer rental bicycles with child seats?
Yes, but only for touring bikes
Do you rent power meters?
Yes, we also have bike models that are already mounted as standard on the bike. If you wish to bring your own crank potentiometer, we can install it only on certain models, pedals on all bikes.
In what state do I have to return the bicycle?
Bike Experience Tenerife is committed to delivering a material in perfect condition. If you return the items in poor condition, you must pay the price of the parts according to the rates of the distributor in Spain. Remember that you must return all the accessories and extras that you have contracted, otherwise you will have to pay the full amount of the lost product.
What happens if I have a problem while I am cycling?
We are confident that all our customers can repair a puncture. For mechanical breakdowns we have an emergency service, you can contact us at +34 922 088 188.
Do you have any type of service en route?
Yes. This service is designed to carry out repairs that appear due to the use of the bicycle or due to accidents. One of our mechanics can travel to any point to make the repair.
  • Transportation: €40 round trip.
  • Spare parts: Recommended selling price by the distributor in Spain.
  • Mechanic labor: Free.
What happens if I have a bicycle accident?
Let’s hope we never find this case, but cycling is like that. If you do not have any insurance contracted, you must pay for the broken pieces according to the market price. The replacement of the parts will depend on the availability in the market of the same in our company or in our suppliers.
Where can I leave my bike overnight?
We are open every day from 09.00 am to 06:00 pm, if you wish you can leave it in our store or you can also take it to your hotel or apartment. We recommend that you leave it in your room overnight and never leave it on the street. Please check with your hotel directly to make sure you will be able to store your bike safely.
Are there bike lanes or do I have to ride on roads?
All cycling routes are on open roads and are shared with other road users. We ask all customers to comply with traffic rules.
Can you recommend us a route through Tenerife?
Yes, visit our routes section and you will find a wide catalog of routes for all modalities and difficulties.
Can you organize entire trips for cyclists or stages for teams?
Yes, we know well the offer of accommodations, massage sessions, biomechanics, trainers, guides, technical service... Even if you bring your bikes from home. Do not hesitate to contact us at to request a quote.to request a quote.
Do you sell second hand bikes?
